    Best Food Source?
    Hey ya'll,

Where do you buy your frozen feeders from?

I've always used Layne Labs to purchase my feeders. I can easily get three to four months worth of feed for my scale babies at a time for a good price. Recently it seems like the quality might have gone down. My feeders have never had bloody noses before, and they used to come packaged pretty nicely. The last two times I've ordered the frozen rats have bloody noses, they are just thrown into the bag akimbo, and even when I thaw them the rats seem wet? Almost like they come with frost burn on them.

I have heard some good things about Rodent Pro.

Any suggestions on a good online market for feeders?

I worry about the sizes from a different company being different.

Ideally, I buy from Big Cheese Rodent Factory, but they're often out of smalls or mediums. The quality is consistent and their sizes are big.

Perfect Prey is also good but expensive to ship for me.

Rodent Pro is actually the ones just thrown into the bag, the rats are dirty and in various poses LOL. legs sticking out all over the place.

When I used to buy feeders to supplement my own production I used American Rodent Supply and Perfect Prey

I have also used Rodent Pro but would not again, undersized feeders soaked in urine are not my thing.

I usually get them from my local reptile store but recently their rats have been a bit too small for my taste so I'm going to be receiving my first order from Rodent Pro. With Deborah's comment above, I'm crossing my fingers that the feeders are the proper size and clean...

Perfect Prey and Big Cheese Rodent Factory are often the favorites. Perfect Prey is my preferred and I've been super happy with them. They also offer smaller quantity orders.

I guess I’ve been lucky with Rodent Pro over the last couple of years. The feeders have been good sized and clean. They do just pitch them in the bag, so if you separate to vacuum seal it can be a challenge. This is my recent experience, but a few years ago I was getting very strong smelling rats and quit using them for a while. I tried them again because they consistently had the larger prey items and have been satisfied so far.

There was another thread recently that discussed feeders, and I saved a few of the links as future prospects since I no longer need feeders for an adult burm.

I typically go to my nearby pet store and grab some arctic mice, My babies are still growing fairly quick after regina's next shed I will probably have to switch up her diet again so not much point in going to get 25 of something she will grow out of after the 6 or 7th lol.
