    Carpet Confusion...
I don’t know what she is but I want her...

Any ideas what else may be going on here? This lovely carpet is listed as a jaguar het red. My knowledge of carpet python morphs is limited and she’s with a ball python breeder who has a few various other snakes. She bred carpets way back when and apparently grabbed this girl thinking she may again but hasn’t.

She’s a year and a half so I feel that her colors will hold. Many that researched were yellow or brownish/tan. She is very light and her head stamp is just wild in my opinion.

Any further info or advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Definitely has jaguar which only gets better with age, now what it is to keep in mind is the jaguar mutation is similar to the spider mutation in ball python.

The issue can vary from very mild to extreme, obviously something to be aware of.

As for the various carpet out there http://www.moreliapythonradio.com/Mo...a-complex.html

Thank you so much for this information!

I was actually recently made aware of this. I actually fell in love with jags when I went with daksiki Dave to his local shop a few weeks back. They had a few beauties but they did display visible neuro issues.

Since I was aware of that I asked the owner for video of the snake and if they saw any. She said none at all and sent me three videos of her being held of her crusing her tank a even a feeding video and I saw zero signs of any wobble or issues. She has been extremely nice and helpful and provided all info with proof and answers all questions. So I feel confident she is ok

ive heard that it can still come on with age or other reasons is this true ?

It's pretty much like spider wobble, temperature, stress etc can make it worse, there was also a good article a few years ago about chemical exposure (mite treatment) making animal with mild neuro issues get a lot worse.

I had a jag for several years and never had any issue with him but I have also seen some train wreck in person.

Ok great thank you. I really like her light color. Do you think that’s because she carries a red gene?

Amazing looking carpet. I'd get it if I were you. I've also heard that shipping stress or mite prevention spray could trigger the jag neuro issues.

Nice looking carpet Dubs. Jags are some of the most gorgeous carpets out there. I don't keep them only because of the potential neuro issues but there's no questioning their beauty.

Ugh... this makes me a tad concerned. I would need to her have shipped. I'd hate for the stress of the ship to cause her issue. She seems rock solid right now... but one never knows when shipping. She is coming from a reputable breeder, although a BP breeder, still a good one so I don't see mites being an issue.
