Is it enchi in there, or not?
    Hi folks,

Just hatched out a couple of babies from enchi x lesserbee, but one of the hatchlings is throwing me a bit off.. Do you see enchi in him? Compared to his sibling, he has the same pattern but it is a bit darker.

Here with his sibling, he is on the right.

    Any thoughts?

    Thats a hard call.
There is a Butter Enchi Spider on WOBP but I couldn't guarantee Enchi in the mix.

I'd say yes, the way the pattern seems so strongly banded is a pretty good indicator to me.

It's hard to say, he is missing the thick complete eye stripe that is associated with Enchis, he could be low expression.

I'm going to say, "no". Not an expert on these combos, but it looks like a lesser spider to me.

He has the banding, thats why I am also leaning towards a low expression enchi myself. Darker than his sibling, but the pattern seems off for just regular lesserbee :weirdface

What are you meaning about the eye stripe? As I've seen the eye stripes on both lesserbees and enchi lesserbees are very similar. Better picture of his side, his eye stripe is darker and bolder than the sibling tho.

A big Enchi trademark is they will have a complete eyestripe going from the sbout to across the eye that is not broken up and is generally thicket the. You normally find on other morphs.

Based on color and more importantly head patter than yes there is enchi present.

it's still there. it's just influenced by the Spider (and Lesser). see:

you're thinking of the single gene Enchi or other pattern genes that do not impact the head pattern.

i agree. i think the head, eyes and pattern are all Enchi Spider (Stinger Bee) and lightness is Lesser. this is all within the normal variation of the morph.
