    small space

    How many watts can the thermostat handle?

    Ummmm no. Check the model and find the wattage, for instance, the Herpstat EZ can only handle a 400W load, the Herpstat 1 can handle a 700W load, etc. Most heaters will draw too much power for them.

    There are small/personal-size heaters designed for cubicles or under desks that are under a 400W load, you can find them at Office Depot, Staples, Home Depot, etc.

    I said unlimited just to make it easier. But the key here is "PROPORTIONAL" all these are on off I think
