cheap stacking cages?
Problem: I'm short and broke but I'm not happy with how I'm keeping my snakes. I'd love to add more but I'm also running out of room for large fish tanks. I definitely still want to be able to see them, no solid white drawers for me. Also, a bit paranoid about fires and heat tape. I don't know if this is really going to happen but I'd really like to know what my options are. Here is a quick photoshop of my idea. Snakes in blue are already owned, snakes in red are on my wish-list.

There aren't any "cheap" stackable enclosures that I know of. I think Animal Plastics is one of the more affordable options but they're still a substantial investment. You may not be able to buy them all at once but maybe you can save and buy one or two at a time. Most of your critters can fit in 3-4 ft cages so they'll be a little less expensive. I'd look into some AP T8s.

Another option is PM Herps (http://pmherps.com/racks.html). I have one of their 2 ft cages for one of my small corns, and they do offer up to 4 ft lengths. Still not super cheap, but nice display cages. Designed with uth in mind. I’m actually tinkering with buying 2 more 3 ft cages for my 2 adult corns. The mental debate is between just adding the 2 PM Herp cages, or reworking my whole setup with AP cages.

The cheapest PVC cages from reputable sellers out there right now are animal plastics and reptile basics... Which are still at least $250 per cage if you add in shipping. PVC is just expensive.

If you get melamine cages, that's much cheaper. But then that stack of yours will be extremely heavy, if you mind that.

Boamaster and Ap cages are least expensive I can think of. I don’t have any ap cages but I do have 4 boamasters and 1 reptile basic. And honestly I like the siding doors on the boamasters better than swing open style of the rb cage.Heres on of my stacks.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e2b51c0c5c.jpg

I would go with Vision. You can get their 28qt racks and use some lengthwise (28qt) and depthwise (12qt) in one setup. You can do the same with the 41qt rack. 41 Quart (1 lengthwise) or 28qt (2 depthwise) and swap them however you want. Same rack. Different tubs.
