difference between F10SC and F10SCXD?

What's the difference between the two? Reptile basics is out of stock on F10SC, so I'm wondering. It seems like F10SC isn't toxic and can be used in a fogger but F10SCXD is?

Also, which one would be better or more cost efficient overall between chlorhexadine or F10SCXD?

F10SC is a disinfectant. The other one is a disinfectant AND cleaner.

F10 antiseptic is the veterinary product that is recommended to use in a nebulizer. Most useful for treating birds so I'm sure reptiles are fine too.

F10SC is still a cleaning agent that can be used in a fogger to disinfect rooms in the case of an outbreak of something like bird flu or parvo. People have been using it off label as a nebulizing agent. It is safe to use as a cleaner for pet products, but actually using it on the pet is a bit of a different matter.

F10SCDX is the same as the F10SC but has detergent added to it to help with the particle cleaning. IE: poop removal.


Some other concerns I would have....F10SC is labeled as rodentcide. And of course if not properly diluted, it can actually be toxic and cause eye damage. But that's true of a few other products as well.
Edit: I know this is a weird trick people have been using for a while no with no problems, but not something I would personally risk with my own animals.

I actually learned of it (F10SCDX) from the form. I been using it on my tanks, bowls and hides. It’s become the only cleaner I use. After I clean the tank with it, I wipe the tank with a barely wet towel. Comes out beautiful. It literally dissolves the most stubborn animal waste. I highly recommend it personally.

Oh yeah, for actual cleaning, these products work great! Now that I have a couple extra animals I added this year, I need to purchase more of it for tub and tank cleaning.

Chlorhexidine is actually fairly safe to use as a medical scrub or wound flush when needed. People can use it as a mouthwash and I was directed to use it for a severe burned ball python recently and he did great.

So for actual like surface cleaning and disinfectant, I would think the F10SC would be a bit stronger. Especially given the antiviral properties at higher concentrations.

F10SC is a great disinfectant. Think Lysol, but safe for reptiles. I use it on my weighing tub, transport tubs, or basically any surface that a reptile has made brief contact with that looks clean but may have germs. I also use it to disinfect crested gecko enclosures/decor after cleaning them with plain hot water. I've heard you can put it (diluted properly of course) in a fogger to treat respiratory infections.

F10SCXD is what I use on anything that is visibly dirty or obviously very germy, like dirty ball python tubs, rat thawing tubs, and feeding tongs. The extra detergent makes a difference when cleaning blood, poop, urate.
