Good lizard and or gecko? For young/beginner pet owners.
So here it is, I myself own a Ball Python but its mine(Apparently the little sister thinks this is a problem lol)
So here I am looking into lizard reptile pets for her preferably on the low maintenance side and okay with being handled. At least once to twice daily for little periods of time(Barely 5 minutes).
Also on the smaller side bearded dragon is about as large as is comfortable.
I have been between bearded and leopard gecko's for awhile. If I am on the right track or maybe missed a possibility please let me know!
Re: Good lizard and or gecko? For young/beginner pet owners.
I have both a crested gecko and a leopard gecko, and I definitely think either would be better than a beardie in terms of cost/ease of care to keep unless your sister is dead set on one, especially for someone younger if she is to be the primary care giver.
I would like to suggest checking out an expo when you decide to purchase and picking an adult or yearling animal regardless which species you choose, especially if your sister is pre-teen or younger.
Baby crested geckos are absolutely tiny as babies (leopard geckos not much bigger) and much more easy to accidentally injure when handled than an older gecko.
