    BP sticking his head out?
So he ate today and has been hiding all day and being pretty mellow, but he keeps sticking his head out of his hot hide? It seems kinda silly to be worried about this but I am lol, does this mean something bad or his he just chilling?
Edit: just to clarify, he's not sticking out much, just like barely the tip of his nose

I hiding ball is a happy ball! And if he's just eaten, he's using that warm hide for digestion. How are your temps? Hot side regulated by a thermostat? (not to be confused with a thermometer...)

I saw your other thread, he's a beauty!

If all you fed him were pinkies (as you said, that's all they had at the show?) then he's still hungry...that's what hungry snakes do, peek out of their hide
in hopes that some other clueless rodent will hop on by. It's a good sign. :D

But...do NOT feed again now. Whenever multiple small items are fed to a snake, they should be fed in rapid succession. By now,
his digestion has started & if you gave him more right now, he may barf up all of them, as his enzymes may be insufficient if more
food is added at this point. So just relax & have a bigger meal for next time. Pinkies are not filling...

Yep, I've got a heat mat hooked up to a thermostat along with a thermometer (and a temp gun), it's currently 86f-87f in his warm hide and 80f ambient
    Thank you! :D

Yeah, I know I reeaally need to get him something bigger but for tonight that's all I have. He ate 3 today but wouldn't take another, should I try to feed him more?

No, not now...& fyi, many snakes will refuse more than one item at a time, no matter what size they are...that's why it's best to get the right size the first time.
But not a big deal for the moment, at least you know he's willing to eat. :gj:

lots of snakes sit in their hides with their head sticking out (partially or all the way). totally normal. I have a bunch sitting there doing that right now

Mine does this exact thing too.
Right after a meal the head is alway completely out.
i moved up to small mice so that is close to 15 grams.
