Help with heat wire in rack system
Just purchased a rack system without testing it like a fool. The heat system, which is heat rope isn't working. Wondering what the best way to fix it or replace it is

If there's a way to repair or test the current wire that would be great, if not I guess I'll have to purchase a whole new wire which is basically the main cost of the rack

I guess to replace it I would just detape it and pull the wire out then snake the new one into place and retape. If I need to replace it should I just do heat tape instead? I'm new to the hobby so any help would be great, thanks.

What type of thermostat is it? Have you ruled out the possibility that it might be faulty? And where did you purchase it from, maybe contact them.

i purchased the racks locally from a guy. i contacted him and he said they were working when he stopped using them. ruled out thermostat by plugging it directly into the wall. guess i just have to purchase a new heat rope . what i get for not testing them before purchasing.
