ball python internal parasties
I have question to people who experienced their ball internal parasites.
I know one of the symptom of the internal parasite is eating but not gaining weight or losing weight. My question is, can slow growth also indicate internal parasite? From February until now (6 month exact), my male ball python only gained about 100 g (125 g at first, now 226g). During those time, I had about 13 feedings because I had to switch him from live mouse to f/t rat. Now he is eating f/t rat from June 3rd. Does this slow growth seem fine? considering he has not been constant while trying to switch?
Feeding schedule until now.
3/11 - adult sm mouse
3/15 - adult sm mouse
Switch failed between 3/15 ~ 4/4
4/4- sm mouse
4/9 - sm mouse
4/19 - sm mouse
4/30 - f/t sm smouse
5/5 - f/t lg mouse
Finally switched after one month
6/3 - f/t fuzzy rat
6/17 - f/t fuzzy rat
6/30 - f/t rat pup
7/8 - f/t rat pup
7/15 - rat pup
7/28 - rat pup
Re: ball python internal parasties
So do any of you routinely deworm your snakes yourselves as a preventative measure?
If so:
1. What brand of medication do you use?
2. Do brands of medication differ between species / size of snake?
3. How often do you do this?
4. How do you dose the medication?
5. What are the potential dangers?
6. Is this a good practice and can it be done safely without the assistance of a vet?
