SOON.jpg
A brief backstory: If anyone here follows Go Herping on YouTube, you likely know about Emerald Scales, which is a business run by two YouTubers who rehome (not strictly, it is a purchase) rescued reptiles. I previously adopted a leo gecko that had missing toes from fighting with other leos, as she and three others were housed together in a ten gallon tank, I believe.
At the time, there was this cute little jungle carpet that they had acquired from a breeder who was downsizing, so not REALLY a rescue. I saw him marked as sold, pending payment, for a while, and recently saw that his price had been dropped.
Well. I've been wanting a jungle carpet for a while, I like to support creators I follow, and it seemed like a good time. So, I am now the owner of a cute, year old jungle carpet python. I was sent a somewhat blurry (lol) picture of him and his recent shed! I can't wait to get this guy! He's arriving August 15th, after my husband and I are all settled into our new house.
I cannot wait. If anyone has any name ideas, I'm all ears! I had the idea to name him JPEG for giggles, but that's still up in the air. >.> Also, I've read SO much about carpet python care, but any special tips or tricks would be appreciated, if you have them.
Here's this pic!

Right? I love all the yellow. That's what really attracted me to the jungle carpets. :D

Ohh, I like those suggestions! I'll mull them over. And I can't wait to get better pictures! Less blurry ones, hopefully, haha! Thanks you~

Re: SOON.jpg
He's hereeeee!!!
JPEG has arrived happy and curious and at 102g! He's so much smaller than my beeps.
So, I'm not super well versed on carpet morphs. I know the lighting isn't the best, but anyone have any ideas? He looks way less yellow in person to me, but he could be in shed.
Also, are there any sort of standard feeding schedule for carpets?
Anyways, wanted to share!!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...7bf2c19e64.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...8eeac8cc1c.jpg

Re: SOON.jpg
He kinda looks like a jungle jag. My yearling eats every 2 weeks. Here is a link with some feeding guide lines. http://www.ebmorelia.net/keeping-and-breeding

Very cool back story, and congratulations on a beautiful snake.

I feed my carpet roughly once a week. They're semi-arboreal so make sure you have branches for him to climb on. Overall mine has been an easy snake. Good attitude, no problems with feeding other than when I switched from mice to rats but now that she's accustomed to rats she eats them no problem.

Great choice.
Excellent display snake.
