Hotdogs by Region
So did u know that July is officially the National Hot Dog Month according to the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council? yep, it's true!
hotdogs are some of my favorite foods and there are so many different variations and i wanna try them all! so i wanna know: how does your city, state or region or ballpark or family or whatsover serve up hotdogs?
here in Seattle - they are served up w/ cream cheese and grilled onions. also Sriracha hotsauce is preferred over ketchup.

FYI - i tried to have the hotdog guy spell out J-Boo in Sriracha so i could text the pix to my friend b/c that's her nickname but the guy misunderstood me and messed up.

chicago dogs
https://ball-pythons.net/forums/cach...842636210.jpeg
all-beef frank on a poppy seed bun, mustard, chopped white onions, relish, a dill pickle spear, tomato slices, pickled sport peppers and celery salt.
NO KETCHUP. EVER.

Regionally, it's typically ketchup, mustard and relish, or your combination of choice. Raw red onions are common too.
Me, I typically go ketchup and mustard when just the "staples" are available.
But I love chilli cheese dogs, pepperoni on dogs is fantastic, bacon (REAL bacon, hehehe) is good on everything, sauteed peppers and onions, the hot dog cordon bleu is a delight, and right now I'm on a sauerkraut and mustard kick.

Being born and raised in Seattle....I have never had a Seattle dog. Lol

I dont know of any "california" style hotdog buuuut my mom makes this topping that is amazing. It is a mixture of mayo, mustard, and sweet pickles which are chopped up like a relish. Ive been hooked ever since she introduced me to it.

While otherwise strongly disliking Chicago and their north side baseball team, I can confirm that Chicago dogs are incredible when done right :D
Wisconsin does Bratwurst however....grilled heavily over CHARCOAL NOT GAS, and then simmered in beer and onions. Serve on a Sheboygan hardroll with sauerkraut and stone ground mustard. My heavy German/Austrian heritage is picky about this whole process lol.
You can't drive longer than a half hour without finding a local Brat fry during the summer.

In Indonesia hotdogs are usually served with a big lettuce leaf on the bread/bun, and then the sausage on top of the lettuce, along with small pieces of shallots with mayo (and normal condiments)
