My first hot- Arizona desert blonde.
I know, I know, it's like the wimpiest venom /ever/... But it's still venom.

I just got my first tarantula tonight. A 2-year-old female Arizona desert blonde named Galadriel (pictures will be coming soon, if I decide to mess with my phone to post them). Got her free from a customer who used to be a breeder and sold her collection. This was her kids' pet and they didn't want it anymore, and she knew I'd take care of it. She's currently in pre-molt: fasting, bald spot. She is, like all of my climbing pets, turning out to be a complete idiot. I worry constantly that she'll fall a measly 2 inches onto soft coconut fiber and shatter.

I keep her in a 10 gallon tank that she inherited from my hermit crabs (along with her water dish and Buddha statue...), and have it filled over halfway with Eco Earth. She's also got a little cave.

Mostly just posting this to be all, "Yay, look at me, I haz spooder".

I've kept a native CA desert tarantula before, years ago...kinda cool (like ALL creatures), but I'm just way more into snakes.
