    Where can I place UTH probe??
    Ok so just got my thermostat for the UTh and looking to set it up ASAP. But where can I place it?

    I have a glass tank, with a liner mat, and substrate down. Do I put the probe under the liner, or above it?

    This probe came with one of those plastic pieces on it that will make it stick to glass, but I bought a hot glue gun as well. Should I ditch the plastic piece or stick this to the glass above the UTH?

    on the outside. between the bottom glass and the heatmat like this:

    ~~~~~~~~~ <-- substrate
    ---------o------- <-- thermometer probe
    ========= <-- glass bottom
    ---------o------- <-- thermostat probe
    ------------------ <-- heatpad or heattape
    I thought once a heat mat is placed, it’s not supposed to be removed? I placed mine before I even KNEW I needed a thermostat for it.
    Re: Where can I place UTH probe??
    There are threads on this site that explain how to remove a UTH without breaking it, and I would use foil tape to reattach it over the probe. Also, from my experience, I'd suggest getting rid of the liner. I've had less than stellar experiences with those
