    10g custom lid
Hello, im housing a baby ball python (morpheus) in a 10 gallon aquarium and the screen lid i bought isnt cutting it. Im going to build a custom lid. I have some hardware cloth to use for ventilation. how much should i ventilate. do you think an inch on each side would work well? Thanks for the input

if your having humidity or temp issues a towel over the top will sometimes help.

well, i have a towel on top now, but i just dont like the lid. it doesnt fit too secure and its a bit warped. I just seems like poor craftsmanship. I think i can make a better one so i am. Im just not sure how much ventilation i should have

You should put enough ventilation to allow air flow and to maintain the humidity you would like to have. Trial and error is generally the best way to get everything right. Put a few holes.....set the lid on....check the humidity and air flow...if they is not good, add some more holes....and repeat the process until you are happy with the conditions that your cover is providing. In plastics, I prefer to burn holes with a soldering iron (it keep the plastic from cracking)....if wood than drilling. make sure the holes are not to large...you dont want any escapes :)

Does that help? Let me know if there is anything else :)
