    3 Days of Turkey Bacon
ok there have been 3 days of trainings/workshops or whatever in my office since Tuesday. i'm not involved or apart of them. these trainings have had breakfast and lunch provided each day, for like 25 peeps. one of the breakfast items everyday has been Turkey Bacon. i ate some on the first day and didn't like it very much. but i guess they needed a non-pork breakfast protein option. so here's 3 days of leftover turkey bacon.

    Day1 - well done!

Day 2 - does this batch look better?

Day 3 - no leftover turkey bacon!

Man this is a issue with me. Bacon come from pigs. Period. Doesn't matter if it tastes good or not it's still not bacon if it didn't come from a pig. I have a vegan lady that works for me, nothing wrong with being vegan, but...

vegan cheese, vegan milk, vegan ice cream etc

call the stuff what it is, flavored soy product.

Oh and back on topic.. turkey formulated to look remotely like bacon tastes like crap after a couple pieces.

I love & have eaten Morningstar Farms "veggie bacon" breakfast strips for many years. I grew up eating the real thing, but I don't miss the mess it makes
to cook & dispose of all the fat, & I don't miss the health drawbacks (too much saturated fat & chemicals in the bacon). I can't live without BLT's, bacon &
egg sandwiches & grilled cheese w/ bacon, and veggie bacon cooks FAST & without any mess: I bake on metal sheet in my toaster oven 350* but it burns
FAST so don't turn your back on it...it turns 'golden' in a few minutes, handy if you're working or just busy (& doesn't need flipping either) & it's crispy with
good bacon flavor, lower calories too (not that I care but for those who do). BTW, I'm not a vegetarian, this is really just my favorite bacon. (and if your
dog loves a bacon treat, which mine do, this is better than the fake treats they sell "for dogs" too) You can also make it ahead of time & it will stay crispy
for a sandwich later, like to take & make a fresh BLT for lunch.

I'm not a fan of "real" bacon. I eat turkey bacon.

It's free food. Eat it and don't complain.

That said, the bacon I eat is not purchased at the grocery store. I get half a hog for the freezer periodically and that includes one ham and bacon cured at the butcher and cut to my specifications (thick!).

As a Canadian, I have no idea what Canadian bacon is supposed to be, I just love regular bacon, also we have maple bacon here too.

    ^^^ YUP ^^^

My brother stopped eating pork for a few years, so he cooked up some of this turkey imposter product once while I was at his house. It wasn't gross but it was NOT bacon.

Am I seriously supposed to choose between bacon, pancetta and pork belly?!?!?!?!? Impossible!!

I'll eat turkey bacon but only if I cook it in a cast iron skilled that is filled with real bacon grease.

Ok, I know we're not even 24 into this thread being created by our good friend, Ax. But serioisly??? ZERO votes for pancetta and pork belly?? I cook with pancetta regularly and use pork belly at least a dozen times each year.

    Y'all don't know what you're missing!

And P.S. I thought Macon was just a town/county in Georgia...
