First Feed

Hello everyone, I just got my first ever ball python (any pet snake for that matter) on Sunday last week. He was hatched on 8/5. I went to 2 pet stores looking for frozen rodents and they were out!! A third store didnt even sell them so i bought the smallest live mouse i could find. It seemed about the size of his widest point. Anyway, i put the mouse in and 5 minutes later he attacked! It was soo cool! Ive never seen anything like it before. Hes now in his warm side hidey digesting.

I was a little worried he wouldnt eat for me. My girlfriend and I have been handling him quite a bit, and i dont think my tank parameters are good enough yet (flexwatt and johnson control thermostat on the way).

He ate which means you can't be doing that badly! :)
I'd leave the little guy alone for a while though - a few weeks to settle in before you start to handle them seems to be the most common advice. You also need to leave them alone for 48h after any meal or they can bring it back up.

Yeah i know i need to leave him alone after he eats. We try not to handle him too much. Im just so glad he ate! I was worried he wouldnt

LOL, not handling your first BP is hard huh?:P congrats on the first feed though. some BP's just flat out refuse to eat!:O
