    Dream NON-SNAKE pet...
I liked the "dream snake" thread that @Skyrivers started and thought it would be cool to hear what some people would like as a "dream pet" outside of snakes. Other herps are welcome.
Tell us what animal(s) you'd love to have as a pet, imagining you had unlimited resources and space to accommodate the animal.

an axolotl, a purple paradox bearded dragon, a sulcata tortoise, dart frogs, too many to name. once i live on my own im gonna get the frogs and axolotl! but the sulcata and bearded dragon are too expensive to keep in the long run for me.

I'd love to be able to accommodate a fennec fox. Definitely a dream-only critter for all the reasons foxes dont make great pets, but if I had the means/time to get around those... who could say no to these adorable little guys??

Of course, I'd also love to have an American Alsatian dog. They're pricey and not quite at their goal for the breed standards yet. They're being developed as a breed of large companion dogs, since most large dogs are working types with high energy, and to look like the extinct dire wolf is thought to have looked. So, selectively breeding from a few base breeds to get the temperament and look they want. [Sounds similar to snake breeding a bit... hmmm. ;) ]
They're even working to out outcross fhe breed enough in development to eliminate most of the issues larger dogs suffer (hip dysplasia and the like)

I'd set up a huge building, like an empty warehouse, as a habitat for flying lizards.

Realistically nothing special but in a few years I just want an Ukrainian Levkoy (when I no longer have dogs I have two and they would not take too kindly having to share me with another critter)

I'd want a tegu or a large monitor lizard, I'd have to do my research on what species is friendliest but I would definitely want a big lizard. Would it be so badass to walk your tegu while everyone else has regular dogs? :P

I wanted to start a wolfdog sanctuary/rescue and educational program for a long time, assuming unlimited resources. Maybe educate on preserving wolves in the wild as well as the ethics of breeding wolfdogs.

I had no idea a flying fox was a thing, that's awesome!
