    About ball python thicknes
    Hello,

As my ball pythons were growing, I had question about the thickness.
My female is at 600g at this moment and I can see that she is growing. I was wondering, when do they start to get thick? The reason I am asking this is because I saw other ball pythons that seems about the similar length but with bigger heads and thick body. Do they just eventually get thicker once they reach full length?

Honestly, it all depends on the snake, and in part, what it’s eating. Sometimes, two snakes of the same age could be 100’s of grams apart. Some females can be under 5ft, others can be over 6. It all depends on the animals genetics. It also depends on the food. A Ball Python eating small rats is definitely going to bulk up faster than another on adult mice. At around 600 grams, you should be on Weaned rats. Don’t try to push your animals thickness, as this will lead to obesity. Your snake will grow however it grows, you just have to make sure you’re providing with what it needs to do so properly.
