I don’t use tubs for my nics but started off in 3x1.5 x 1.5ft viv and as there generally under 5.5ft she will end up in a 5ft viv
My nics love to climb there branches and also has a shelf in there which she generally chills on the 80% of the time

Generally for boas, I start babies in shoe box tubs then move them up to sweater box size and then to their adults homes, typically 4x2 pvc caging.
I haven't had nics but lots of Bi and a pair of hog isle localities.

Any problems w/ starting a baby boa of any locality or type in a bigger enclosure (4x2)? I've heard mixed answers for a BP but most of the owners just say put multiple hides in the enclosure. I'd rather not purchase a smaller container if I don't need to.

Should be fine ,just put more hides etc in as you said and take some out when they put growth on and get more confident , I’d start off with smaller hides and swap them as they grow bigger tho ,they like to feel secure in them or if you already have them you could always put loads of moss in to pad them out a bit till they fit snuggly
