    Backup plan for snakes?
I guess this thread applies more to breeders with lots of snakes, or keepers with more advanced or otherwise hard to handle species.

Assume a scenario that you go traveling and can't return home, or there is some sort of disaster in which you can't return home and manage the outcome of your snakes. If you don't know anyone locally who knows how to care for and manage or sell snakes, what's your plan? Who do you contact, or who do you tell your relatives/friends to contact, and what do would you have them do?

I've been traveling a lot this year and it just got me thinking that it might be important to have some sort of instructions for my family on what to do. And I don't know anyone local who would be able to manage my snakes.

Been thinking about this as well lately! Interested to hear what others have to say. But I am pretty local to you, so if you’re ever in a pinch, you know a local who’s not afraid of a snake bite ;)

I have instructions in my snake room.
In the case that something should happen to me, my girlfriend will know who to contact. Should a situation arise that her and I are both unable to return home, my brother knows what to do.
Worst case scenario: me, my girl AND my brother are ALL involved in some horrible tragedy, ruh-roh!

All my snakes are labeled with their name and my feeding log book is easily accessible and list the size of prey that each last ate, the date, and if they ate that prey or not.

The prey size is properly labeled in the freezer.

I have local people I can call incase I need to get someone to change water. I also have a spare house key hidden in the event of an emergency.

My mouse colonies would probably get wiped out if something major happened, as those things need almost daily care.

Should I get in a tragic accident (coma) and not be able to convey where things are or what to do then my wife knows how to take care of my snakes.

Hmm, I will be using some of these ideas for some tank notes to let anyone know what's inside. Thanks!
