    Is distilled watter a must in the perlite?
    Is distilled watter a must in the perlite when using plastic light defuser pannel ? Or average tap water ok?

    Here's the thing about pure water. It's only pure water if it's put in a sterile environment. Once it touches anything else, it's not pure anymore. So worrying about using it when it's going in a decidedly NOT clean environment is a bit silly :)

    I use really hard well water, I mix it in with the vermiculite and set the eggs right in the damp vermiculite. I don't have any problems at all.
