Introducing Genesis, Thai Bamboo ratsnake. O. p. coxi
She just arrived this morning. She is a 2014 and is very chill, for an O. p. coxi. Which is nice, my male Atari is also pretty chill, so gives us two adults that can be handled.

Peed in the bag on the way of course.

LOL! Yeah, my other current female is psycho, the only time she is calm is immediately after she's been bred or just laid eggs. At least that does make it easier to handle her at those times.
I had a sister to that one named River that was bipolar in temperament but unfortunately she passed away this winter.

Their hatchlings are also the only snake species, except maybe Amazon Tree boas, that I've worked with that are just downright mean, most all other snake "aggressiveness" is scared/defensive but I've had coxi babies calmly being held in my hands and very deliberately rear back, bite hard, look up at me to gauge the reaction, didn't jump, so then it carefully looks over the hand, chooses another likely spot and bam! And the little poop repeated that process many times. They are very easy to teach to bite too, you make the mistake of reacting to one and they will redouble their efforts for months afterwards. I wear nitrile gloves when handling the babies because I do have a hard time not reacting to being bitten and the gloves help me ignore it.
