Abnormal lumps or overreaction?
Recently received this little girl from a breeder on morph market. From the given info she is 9 months old, but only weighs 116 grams due to "maintenance feeding".
Aside from being small and underweight, she seemed fine. She has had three meals in the three weeks I've had her, and has given me a perfect shed.
However, this evening when I took her out, I noticed this strange lumpy area on her.https://ball-pythons.net/gallery/fil...626_201601.jpg
It doesn't seem gooey or blisterlike, and there is no reaction frim her when I touch it. It certainly didn't keep her from eating again. Any idea what this could possibly be??
Re: Abnormal lumps or overreaction?
Signs of starvation? Not sure. The experts will chime in soon. Welcome.

Thank you, truly hate that my first post is one asking for help, but it is what it is.
Starvation was one of my first thoughts as well. Maybe too much food right out of the gate? I honestly have never seen this before and all searches have brought me nothing.

Can you post photos of the entire snake? Would show the over all health.
Re: Abnormal lumps or overreaction?
Based on the pic: I am thinking embedded uric acid crystals in the tissues due to prolonged dehydration. So many things that it could be though.

Pics taken this morning of the same area. Remember, she did eat last night

Not nearly as noticeable, almost like her food pushed it out into place. Scales almost have a flat appearancehttps://ball-pythons.net/gallery/fil...627_074619.jpg
Re: Abnormal lumps or overreaction?
I will wait until she is done passing her meal before taking any further action. However, if it is still present after the fact, I am going to take her to the vet. I have a feeling I'm not going to get any definitive answers here, because it is very strange.
Re: Abnormal lumps or overreaction?
I haven't been able to find any info on the uric acid thought. She has had fresh water daily and humidity is good... could you school me a bit? What other things are you guys thinking it could be?
