    Bp injured by live rat
There's a lot of stuff I could have prevented from this as I've talked to a couple of friends/a pet store today, but yeah, today I found that my BP's eye cap is completely bursted inward to which I guess was from her previous food, which was actually a couple days ago and I failed to notice she got tagged on her eye until today. She seems fine, same temperaments, not hissy, a bit twitchy when you try to look at her eye closely but i assume it probably hurts a bit. Heres some pictures, though my phone camera quality is pretty bad.

I'm already looking to take her to the vet on Thursday, what're some other things I can do to help remedy it before the wait? There's a big glob of dried blood under her eye, and the eye cap looks like its basically donezo. Her eye, however, looking through the eye cap, I can see is still moving and almost seems undamaged, but hey, I'm not a vet but I am still worried.

It's tough to tell from the pics, but are you sure it's not a dented eye cap due to dehydration??

An infection anywhere on the head, but especially the eye, can be a serious threat to her life...the faster her (antibiotic) treatment, the better her chances
of avoiding the infection spreading to her brain. I hope you're re-thinking what you feed (live)? I would see if the vet has a cancellation to get you in sooner.
This should NOT wait, IMO. (assuming she actually was bit in the eye, which I cannot tell from the pics either)

I know it's not a dehydration one mainly because .. well, if it was just that, there wouldn'tve been blood.
Plus, all of her sheds leading up to now have been great condition and her humidity has been fine.

I feed live, the last one I fed her was on the bigger side than normal, so I'm gonna be down sizing from now on.
Yeah, I'll probably call to see if they have any cancellations. They're just booked until Thurday morning. I'm pretty worried about
the infections and what not so that's why i wanted to see if there was more I can do while I wait for the vet.
I can't afford emergency, but a vet visit is fine.

I don't think she was BIT in the eye; when she coiled the rat before I let her do her thing, I saw it's head peek out, no where near her eye. I think what happened was that it got scratched from a hind claw.

Ok, just had to throw it out there. I wasnt aware of the blood. Unfortunately all I can say at this pount is yeah, I'd try to get to the vet asap.

Good luck! I hope everything works out well.

BP's and Adult Rats have always been a bad combo for the 30 years Ive owned snakes. When I have a BP that will only take live I feed a couple weaned to 5 week old Rats depending on the snakes size.
