So cool it must stand alone.
I say it time and again; I LOVE snakes that display arboreal and semi arboreal characteristics!
I never expected my retic to be the most arboreal snake in our batch of 4. Well,,,, OK the royal didn't really stand a chance at being number one here but that's beside the point.
Wallace is in the "canopy" about 80% of the time. He totally digs being up there. He had one hunt from the perches, and obviously succeeded and from that point on, when he smells food, he goes up, if he's not there already.
I know every snake is different, every keeper is different and every situation is different. BUT,,, if you have the means to do so, set up a big cage with some ceiling space and be rewarded.
I get to watch this type of stuff every day.
I normally feed F/T but I have 2 snakes that are very picky. The carpet is hit or miss and the royal ONLY eats live.
This was a live refusal. Wallace had it taken care of in seconds.

He watched it from above and then it was all over.

Sometimes I don't know how he even constricts because his initial strike is so deep the prey is half gone. That goes for both live and F/T

He did all of his business from above, never once descending to the floor.

He did let gravity work for him though.

And a few moments later it was pretty much over.

It took some effort to set his cage up the way I wanted, but the entertainment value is off the charts.
I also fully believe the snake benefits by displaying natural behaviors.
Hope that was enjoyable.
Have a safe week!

An aged and disinfected, dried out tree, a full sized treated wood fence post wrapped with twine, and a closet dowel wrapped in fake vines and decorated with plastic foliage. All 6 feet long and mounted with heavy duty brackets.
Everything is removable.

You are welcome sir.
I enjoy seeing everybody else's stuff as much as my own.
When JM added perches and showed off his girl, I was pretty stoked!
Hope others follow the trend.
