New blood python just arrived but..is it python Curtis brongersmai
Very exited for this snake. Arrived about 20 minutes ago. Everything looks good but just notice this snake isn’t as red as some other pics I see online of small blood pythons. I’m always proud of my animals but just want other members opinions. I have her in a 20L with repti bark until I can go change pad and set up tub. She is beautiful though let me know what you guys think. My first blood/ short everhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e7de6aae7.heichttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...3bf8ee628.heichttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f4a684a6c.heic

I won't be able to help with ID, but great pick up!
I'm definitely happy I added my Borneo boy.

Looking good, from what I seen short tail change colors but unlike bps for the better colors getting richer and bolder ever shed, that is one smoking hot snake and will only get better with age please keep us posted;)

Looks great! How is Curtis' attitude? Nippy or calm? Bloods is on my list. They are so pretty.

They have a reputation for being a bit nippy, as well as unpredictable. However, that rep is gradually being put to bed as captive bred animals are readily available.
I've handled a handful, and only one juvenile struck.

My personal experience with Juice after 6 months in my care: quiet, wimpy, closed-mouth hissing occasionally when I first touch him. I let him know I'm not a threat and he's fine. He has never struck, never even gave me a real hiss. Never once have I had a problem getting him out of his enclosure and when hes out he's the epitome of a chill "lap snake".

I do know there are still some, just like any species, that are a bit more challenging, but that's to be expected.

Out the box yesterday she was calm for the most part. There was a couple times she froze and had her tongue out half way and I just handled her accordingly. No hissing and striking whatsoever

There is a huge amount of variation in color, from yellow to brown to red. Most are sort of a brownish maroon. You can look at the parents for an idea of how the babies will turn out, they do change with age somewhat.
