Even though I don't currently keep any BPs, thought since I'm on a BP forum that I should share one of my experiences keeping a BP.
She was a neighbor's to a friend of ours that contacted us when he was told the neighbor wanted to get rid of it. The story was that she would only sometimes eat F/T but would always take live, however the nearest place to get live was over 30 minutes away and the neighbor often times couldn't make the trip. She was supposedly either 3 or 5 years old, I was given both numbers. We took her in even though neither of us are keen on BPs, figuring we could find her a good home.
The cage she was in was disgusting, it had a sand substrate, not a great deal of snake poop in it but it stank like cat urine. I'm fairly certain the guy's cats were peeing into it through the screen top. She was about 25-30 inches long when we got her, had half a stuck shed and weighed in at a whopping 244 grams. We picked her up Nov 30th, 2013.
Getting a sauna for that shed on intake.

Despite her malnourished condition, she was surprisingly healthy otherwise and while I started her off on a live for the first meal, rapidly found her to be a voracious eater, on anything, live, dead, hot or room temp, didn't care. She would in fact come flying out of the tub with mouth open every time it opened in the hope of food. Thankfully she was sweet and docile once out of the tote and assured food was not forthcoming.

what a beautiful set of progress photos and backstory. i hope she has the fat and happy life she deserves.
