Ambient vs. Belly heat.

Where I live, the summer is basically perfect humidity + ambient temps for a python it seems.

Today, ambient is 85 and humidity is 68% outside. We have no air conditioner due to building regs, just a small portable one for our bedroom.

Would my ball be ok at that heat if I shut off all other heating elements and just left it ambient? Should I still provide a hot spot via UTH ? I don't want to over heat him!

It will be fine many breeders use ambient temps alone, so do I 8 to 10 months out of the year.

Agree...and you might want to add a hot spot just after meals taken, for a few days, and only by day?

Why? They can digest just fine in the mid 80's range.

So 86 ambient isn't too hot if I take away other heat sources? It's only May and it was 88 degrees outside Today, and in trying to cool my appartment down desperately, but it keeps climbing back

I just meant if the OP is concerned about that being enough heat...I personally might try that, but that's me & I'm not saying it's required.
I certainly defer to your experience with BPs...

I personally wouldn’t be to concerned with an 86 degree ambient temp. Like the others have mentioned you could always run a fan. But you should be just fine in my opinion. Hope that helps.
