Male Is Indifferent? Take Heart!
Back in late 2014 I picked up an adult ember hypo male to breed. The prior owner had paired him a few times, but never caught any locks and the females he was with didn't go, so I got him as an unproven, possible disinterested/non-breeder male.
I paired him with one or two few females over the past few seasons with the same result: no locks observed and he and the female typically stayed on opposite sides of the tub, and those females didn't produce anything.
This past year was the same; I paired him with a virgin female just for the heck of it, expecting nothing from her, but she presented me with four beautiful eggs for the incubator today. I honestly thought she wasn't going to go this year but she fooled me. :w00t:
Pairing was an ember hypo male to a black pastel het hypo female.

I hope so!
I also used every trick in the book with these two: paired right before a storm, paired them just as she was coming out of shed, put another male's shed in the enclosure, rubbed another male's sperm plugs on her, etc. Obviously something worked!
