    Human heatpad or not
My vet has told me that using humand heat pads is fine as long as its not directly under the tank.
A lot of people disagree with this and i wanted to know what you guys think?

I used them for awhile, until I had one start to melt down, I replaced all my human Heat pads that day. The big thing to remember is that they were not designed to run 24/7 thats why many of the new ones have a auto shut-off timer.

I have burn marks on my floor from human heat pads set on 'warm' (not even low, below that!)

flexwatt and a rheostat is often cheaper and much safer.

I am moving to flexwatt in the future. In the meantime we've got quite a few hhp's that have been running over a year that sort of accrued lol.

flexwatt is the shizzle, and there might be a certain person who has posted in this thread who I would recommend purchasing from. ;)

The people that sell flexwatt either sell it ready to go or are very helpful getting you set up .... it's their job.:D

Yes, many commercial racks are sold with flexwatt pre-installed.

Is "Flexwatt" good enough to heat through the wood on this type of set up? I was also thinking of cutting two holes in the top and intsalling a white light and a red/blue light for the night time. I am also going to build me an Iggy cage of the same marterial, so knowing if "Flexwatt" will work will help me on my construction of the cages.
