Sylphie's last clutch of Russian ratsnakes... not true.
Catchy title, I know ;)
After we needed to sell our melanistic male Orion I decided I won't go back to breeding Russian ratsnakes. He was one of my fav snakes and even if my logical part knew selling him was the best option I'm still sad about it. So this year clutch was second and last of Artemis&Orion and our last clutch of this species... up unitl hour ago ;)
This little partially striped beauty popped out of nowhere and gave my a new project and dream about creating a fully striped schrenckii. 6 eggs are still hatching, the other 3 hatched babies are perfectly normal, healthy ones. Of course I will post a nice picutres after their first shed but here are 3 quick ones of our New Hope:

After popping it turned out we have 5 males and 5 females :D 5 babies readily taken f/t pinkies, one girl will eat f/t if I put some egg on it and 4 babies unfortunetely need to be force feed for now as nothing else works. Completely no one in my city has live pinkies so I can't just fed them live once to kick those instincts to eat. I hope that those 4 will soon start eating on their own though.
C.Marie, thank you! I'm still sad about selling their dad but now I can leave two of his babies as hodlbacks so it's better than nothing :) And who knows maybe in future we will get even more crazy-patterned noodles.
