What are the genes in ____?
Is there a source out there that has a list of all the morphs and their "ingredients"? (i.e. Bumblebee=Spider x pastel)

With all these folks creating names for their combos, it's difficult for a morph-newbie to really know the genetics involved.

I believe it just gets updated as breeders create new combos and submit photos and combo info to them. So say I made a worlds first, I would take some pictures and send them to them with what the new combo is. I’m not sure how they approve or verify but I’m guessing it’s based on the word of the breeder.

u can also type in a morph name into the Morph Market search bar for Ball Pythons and it will separate out the genes for u. here i ran a search for Pewter and it the genes that make that combo are Cinnamon and Pastel:

A breeder I know says Black Pastel and Pastel also make Pewter. I picked up a “Black Pewter Pastel Bee” from him and he said genetics are Pastel, Black Pastel and Spider. What are the thoughts on this? Just trying to learn all I can about these types of things. Would that make it a Black Pewter as he says?

Cinnamon and Black Pastel are very similar morphs and combos of those with other morphs are also generally similar (nice thread about them here: https://ball-pythons.net/forums/show...S-Black-Pastel )

    Cinnamon x Pastel = Pewter
Black Pastel x pastel = Black Pewter
The name difference is to show which gene was used.

For your Black Pewter Pastel Bee, the pastel is not necessary since it being a black pewter already means there is pastel in the mix, personally I'd call it a Black Pewter Bee
a "bee" refers to Bumblebee which is a combo of pastel and spider.

    I hope that helps!
