    Coco Substrate or Paper Towels?
Hello again everyone! Recently, Paarthurnax has started to develop a bit of a habit. Every time I clean his cage, change the paper towels, etc, I always find that he had buried himself underneath the paper within 10 minutes. I know BP's burrowing is a common thing, and I was curious, because of this behavior, should I maybe switch over to a proper substrate? I feel like he might find a proper burrowing substrate a little more comfortable, if at the cost of me having to spend a little more time cleaning up his enclosure. He's in a plastic tub, currently, if that makes a difference.

The beauty of being the owner, is you get to decide!

Before making your choice, ensure the husbandry is taken care of. Could he be burrowing to get closer to the heat source? Could he not feel secure with his current hide? Not accusing you of anything, but husbandry is one of those things that can easily be overlooked.

As to my personal opinion, I would choose a real coconut based bedding anyday. Holds moisture better, and spot cleaning allows you to go a little longer without doing a full scrub. If I had 10+ snakes, I would probably opt to go with paper towels though. Again, it's all up to you.
