Eggs denting early but humidity is fine

My eggs are on day 22 and I just checked them today for the first time since I placed them in the incubator. I noticed that most of the eggs are dented. I know this is normal later in the incubation period but at this stage I'm a little concerned. Humidity and temperature is in the normal range. I have a gauge on my incubator itself and I have another one as well. The one that is built in says 90% humidity and the other one says 99% the temperature is 88.5 give or take half a degree. Should I be concerned or will they hatch out fine? Should I put a wet paper towel over them to try to undent them?

I would not recommend putting a wet paper towel over them, they might drown. I'd personally add a little water, but not "on" them.

I'm using the substrateless method so I have nothing but water in the tub. I did add a little bit more though.

I was wondering what method you're using...I've always 'planted' eggs in moist vermiculite with the top third exposed to air, etc. Not sure with your method...
I'll leave it to someone who does it the same way.
BTW, did you candle them? Are they viable so far?

I did candle them before I set them in the tub and they were all good. I also candled them when I checked on them and they were all still good.

I don't blame you for being concerned, that's pretty significant (denting) for so early on.

Also, it appears you have condensation on plastic cover over the eggs? Be aware that drips ON the eggs can drown them.

I still don't know what to advise you though: I hate to think these eggs are going south, but as you know, such denting isn't exactly a good thing.

Hope someone else (that uses the same incubation method) can add their thoughts, but eggs are pretty much a "wait & see" no matter what. Good luck!

I used two layers of press and seal wrap and the condensation is between them and on the top, there's wasn't any underneath where it could drip on the eggs, which is one of the things I was checking for. I guess all I can do for now is keep an eye on them and hope for the best.
