    Question about feeding.
I recently adopted a 3 year old BP from a friend who passed away. I am completley new and have been doing my research. I was told he was on small rats so i fed him 1 about 3-4 hrs ago. He is about 1200 grams. Small rats vary from 50-89 grams if im not mistaken. Should i feed him another? Or should i just wait ? Thanks for taking your time to read this.

Male or female snake? Males generally won’t need anything larger than a small rat once a week. Females maybe a medium on the same schedule. I’d leave it be for now and feed again in a week. Good luck and don’t be afraid to ask any other questions!

I'm sorry about the loss of your friend (RIP).
Great job looking after the animal. I agree with jmc, I'd wait a while to feed him again. At 1200g I'd probably feed him a small rat every 7-10 days or a medium rat every 10-14 days.

This was just the setup he had. I ordered everything new atm recommended by someone. Just waiting for it to arrive. Im aware after alot of research this is not the optimal setup but i have the temps and humidity maintained in the mean time till i get it. Here is 2 pics hopefully good enough to maybe figure out what type of BP he is.

i'm really glad you're aware that the setup isn't adequate. the snake will be fine until you're new equipment arrives. im really sorry about the loss of your friend btw. are you doing okay? we try to help our people too, not just the snakes. [emoji4]
