so i have a western hognose in a 2.2q tub and ive been trying to clean it as much as possible every time i see her go, and do a deep clean every month but it seems the smell is stuck in there no matter how much i clean.. any ways to get rid of it?

Try vinegar and water it's a natural cleaning solution I use at home. No chemicals so it shouldn't be harmful to your hoggie. May smell like vinegar for a couple minutes, but the vinegar smell goes away and it sanitizes and cleanses.

ill try that later after i move for sure, i might buy a couple extra tubs today since i have the money and theyre cheap, so i can put more time and effort into cleaning so i can just switch them out.

I have a couple extra tubs. When the dirty one is taken, I put the snake immediately into a clean one. I then fill the empty dirty tub with hot water and add a couple drops of dish detergent to the water. I leave that to soak for several hours and give it a good scrub before rinsing REALLY well. If possible, I then put the tub outside in the sun to dry. Once it's completely dry, I put in clean bedding (I just use paper). That way, it's ready to go as soon as you need to clean again. IF you have extra hides etc. you can clean them at the same time and let them soak with the tub. Mind you, this won't work if you have dozens of snakes, but I have 6 and so far, it works for me as USUALLY they don't all need their tubs cleaned on the same day.
Eventually though, the plastic WILL absorb odors, at which point you'll just have to chuck the tub and invest in a new one. I'd think though, that you'd get at LEAST 12 mos. out of each one, especially if the fecal material and liquids don't sit against the plastic for long periods of time.

Actually yes it does work if you have dozens of snakes, you just have a lot more dirty tubs soaking in soapy water in your bathtub at once.
