How much is your weekly feeding cost? POLL
I was just wondering what everyone's feeding cost is. Mine is about $50 a week for all my animals including my dogs.

I figure $51-100. Hard to know for certain b/c I get frozen rabbits in bulk from a local meat rabbit breeder so every few months I'll drop about $300 just on those.

I've never actually calculated it all until now, and it's just a ballpark guess. But between the snakes, ferrets, fish and cat. I'm guessing between $20-30 weekly.

    $86/week in animal feed.

Food for Rodents for snakes - $27/week
Food for Rodents for outdoor Ravens - $2/week
Food for Rabbits for meat - $18/week
Food for Chickens for eggs- $4/week
Food for Cats for furniture demolition - $32/week (wet food only - prescription diet for one)
Food for Fish for amusement - $1/week
Food for Roaches for amphibians - $2/week

    Offsets:
Rodent waste is good Compost material
Ravens defend Chickens from Birds of Prey
    Rabbits are low-calorie/high protein
Chickens give eggs I would buy anyway
    Cats are pest control
Fish tank water is good for house plants
Roach waste is good for Compost
    ....Yes...its all justified.....

$50 a bag of dog food that lasts about 3 weeks and about $75 for an order of rodents that last 4-5 months so maybe $20 a week I don't know. Snakes are super cheap to feed.

    2 dogs: $8/week (Source kibble)
    2 cats: $12.50/week (Authority canned)
Bunny: less than $1/week. Hard to tell. It takes her at least 3-4 months to finish a huge bag of hay.
Hamster: less than 50 cents/week. Eats whole grain cereal, veggies, dog kibble, pasta and other foods that we already have.
Blue tongue skink: less than $1/week. Canned snails (120+) from Amazon, veggies, 1 tsp of grain free dog wet food per week, plenty of supplements left from last year. Basking bulbs are most costly as they keep burning out every few months or so. He eats only 2x a week so that saved a lot of expenses.
Bearded dragon: $5/week including $1.00 worth of crickets x20 from Underground. Same veggies that we, my skink and hamster eat. Bulbs and UVB bulbs are most costly.
Ball python: less than a $1/week for f/t rat pup.
Children's Python: less than 0.50/week for f/t pinkie mice.
Cal Kingsnake: less than $3/week for two f/t adult mice.

About $33/week to feed my zoo. That is not adding in costs of dehydrated pet treats, nylabones and toys for the dogs and cats. Or the cost of feeding raw chicken breasts/thighs, chicken gizzards and eggs now and then.

Not a Ton for me, <$1 a Week for my 20gal Fishtank's flakefood and occasional bloodworms

    >$1 a week for ball python, (f/t rat pups)

And probably less than >$1 a week for the dog since it takes him a while to down a $50 bag of dog food.

I guess I spend about $22 a week on average to feed my critters. It costs roughly $12 a week to feed my cat and $20 bi-weekly to feed the (8) snakes since they usually eat every (14) days. That's (5) medium rats at $2.50 each, (2) large rats at $3 each, and (1) rat weaner at $1.50. I don't count the occasional chicks or mice they sometimes get as snacks between meals. :)

Re: How much is your weekly feeding cost? POLL
Roughly ~$10-12/week. Colossal rats at $3.50, jumbos at $3, and Smalls about $1.65 and then $30 shipping divided between about 45 rodents per shipment adds about $.66 per feeder. Sometimes weekly feeding is a bit more or a bit less depending on whether or not Phyllis is pushing a ton or if any of the three are in shed. Would easily be more than twice that cost if I didn’t order frozen online. My only local pet shop sells large/jumbo rats for $9 and they’re not even that big! Robbery...

Probably under six dollars a week for 5 male ball pythons.
