Time for another rat order, wanting opinions on one
It’s time for another rat order. I didn’t realize I had used up all my mediums. You start going through them fairly quickly once all the girls are on them. Since I’m getting my order together im doing all the figureing of what I’ll need, countinnon my current collection level and getting enough feeders for 6 months or so.

The one that has me hung up, I’ve got a girl that before laying a clutch almost 50 days ago, was 2400g before laying after her prepay fasting and dropped to 1700g after. And she’s gaining back her weight well. Before her prepay fast she had been holding around 25-2600g, probably always keeping a little waste instead of passing it all. This was her first clutch so I’m not sure if that was her max size or if she’ll be a bit larger after her bounce back. She had been on a larger, medium rat every two weeks

Should she stay on mediums or would she be fine to bump up to large? Btw, I like to feed them on a two weeks schedule

    Thanks,
    Kyle

I generally keep pretty much all my ball pythons on medium rats. The only exception I make to this is when you get into the real monsters that are like 4000+g.

I wouldn't go past medium honestly.

Thanks for the input. I ordered a bunch more mediums. Hopefully she will eventually get to the size where larges are appropriate. But I’ll keep her on mediums.

    Thanks,
    Kyle
