    First Boa Progression Thread
Hi! I got my first boa yesterday. She’s a Suriname Red Tail from Snakes at Sunset and I absolutely love her. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...84166e7379.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f26c3173c5.jpg
This set up is temporary but for now its good while she’s still little (I’d say she’s about a foot and a half to two feet maybe? I’ll measure her after I’ve let her get used to her new environment for a few days). I’m only assuming she’s female, I’ll either pop her or have my vet probe her to be sure but I’m hoping she turns out to be so.

I’m already loving her attitude. When I was unpacking her, she was very wary of my hand so I let her come out of it on her own. I held her for a bit and admired her beautiful tail and the lovely pink blush all over her face and sides (she’s gorgeous, pictures just don’t do her justice) before I put her in her new enclosure to let her get settled in. This morning I sprayed her enclosure to keep up the humidity and I noticed a noise as I was spraying the tank. I stopped spraying and realized she was hissing at me because I had sprayed her on accident. I called my friend over to listen and snapped the quick pic above then I left her alone so I could finish getting ready for school. Its a nice change to what I’m used to since my bp has never hissed or bit anyone but this girl almost bit me and my friend yesterday when we were getting her out of the package and she was definitely ready to bite this morning.

Now my only problem is... what should I name her?

    congrats!!! she looks lovely.

for a name: i like Ruby; google led me to the name "Kura," which is Polynesian/Maori in origin, which means "red" in Polynesian and "treasure" in Maori;, and i thought that was pretty. :)

:0 that’s awesome. Definitely gonna be one of the top competitors for the name.

Here’s another 2 nice pictures of her. I came home from school and she was looking stunning so I got these two pictures before leaving her to be. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...3a8ceb4727.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...000e580e73.jpg

First handling since I first got her out of her box. She’s so sweet once she’s out of her tank but getting her out is a real hassle. Fed her a fuzzy afterwards and was surprised that her food response want very strong. Probably because I had just been handling her before. She just gently put her mouth over the head of the mouse and pulled it out of my tongs and that was it lol.

Fed her again on Monday. Will be holding her today. She was still really gentle with the feeding, just barely putting her mouth over it and then gently curling around it. So cute.
