Would a 100 watt ceramic heat emitter work for a 20 gallon?
My room where the cage will be is usually in the mid 60s for temp, so I feel like a 60 watt wouldn't be warm enough, but I'm not sure if 100 is too warm. Let me know your thoughts, thanks. 😊

i used a 100W with my 20gal and i had to barely turn the rheostat up to maintain proper temps.

i prefer to run a higher watt bulb at a lower setting than a lower wattage at a higher setting.

A 100 barely worked for me, eventually went to a 150. My house is cool though.

    That makes sense, thank you

Yeah I'm pretty sure a 150 would be way too hot in my house haha. Thank you!

That should be good if your using it for the Cool Hide (78-80 degrees).. However if its for Hot Hide Basking temp you'll never get 90 out of it... For temps as cool as your home is (Mid 60's) I would have a UTH under the Hot Hide without a doubt. It is hard to maintain a Glass Tank period let alone in a cooler room.

We use a UTH and an infrared bulb for our tanks. One has a dimmer, which is nice because we can adjust light output as needed. The other is hanging from a light stand, so we just played around with the height until we got the temps right in combination with the UTH. I imagine you could do something similar with a CHE if you're worried about it being too warm, just raise it up (although I've heard you should regulate CHEs with a thermostat, just like a UTH).
