    I created a monster..
    A very cute one though...

Smeagol actually comes to the front of the door and stares me down. He wants bugs hand delivered...LOL.

If that doesn't work, he will go to his tree and sit right by the door opening, waiting for food.

While that is adorable, hand feeding is a bad habit, so he got put in a container with some roaches. He was offended!

He kept staring as if to say, this isn't how this works! He finally did go after a few. Missing about every other time, LOL.

Lol, my adult male, hemlock, is like this, always wanting to either be held or hand fed... preferably both. My female, belladonna, hates me and simply wants me to feed her then cease to exist.

Yeah, I was fully prepared of only having minimal handling accepted. I never expected begging (more like demanding) at the door, though, LOL!!!

    OMG,

I wish someone had been here to film this !!!

As soon as I put our new, special room lighting on (another post coming about this..) Smeagol was on the ready.

He quickly came up to the door, just begging to be let out. So I put a couple of bugs into the Kritter Keeper and put that in front of his cage. I want him to get used to eat / hunt in there on his own. He quickly noticed the movement in the Kritter Keeper and stared at it.

So I opened the door. He then looked up and directly at me. Instead of picking him up, I just held my flat hand out to him.

And he slowly and deliberately stepped on it after only a second of hesitation. I was so touched, it was so incredible !!! Such trust..:tears::tears::tears::tears::tears::tears::oops:

I then lowered him into the Kritter Keeper and he hunted a bit. He still isn't great at it, though, LOL !! But he was a lot more willing to try. Then I lifted him out and back into his cage.

    He is so special !!!

Even though he pooped in the container of his food ledge!

Like feeding a puppy scraps at the dinner table. Once you do it, there's no turning back.
