    Broken Jumpstart Thermostat from package
I am so annoyed right now. I've been planning on getting a ball python for the last 2 years and have slowly been collecting the supplies. Last October I bought the jumpstart thermostat due to it being $20 at the time and put it in with my supplies. I'm going to a show tomorrow and through it would be a good idea to put my tub together. Guess what!! The thermostat will not go higher than 80 degree F. It can go down but not up. So I have to order another one which will be on Sunday. The worst part is the return date has way past.

Unless I'm mistaking something, I have a broken thermostat and I kinda need it working now. I know I should of tested it when I got it but I forget. Lesson learned.

    *grumble grumble*

Eh. Not too hard. I've already order another. It's just the inconvenience and the cost is annoying.

    Thank you for the offer!

Always sucks having equipment fail...but good job prepping and seeing it fail now vs in the middle of the winter.

Not go higher on the digital readout or not go higher with the plugged in heat source? Are you sure the thermostat is bad and not the heating element? If the digital readout will not allow you to program it above 80 that is one thing but if the displayed temp is stuck at 80 yet you can set it higher the UTH or other heat element might be bad.

You can rule this out by getting a light plugged in and putting the probe near the bulb.

It will not let me program it to go higher. When I press the up button, it doesn't feel like it pressing down. I'll mess with it again when I get home.

Not trying to offend you but just in case you may not be doing it right, seems like you are though because you said it will go lower.

You hold the set button until the temp starts to flash, at that point is when you start hitting the up button and then hit the set button once you're happy with the temp.

If you purchased from Amazon, they've done exceptions for me in the past regarding defective units outside of return date. Also one other item you might want to look into is the iPower Thermostat, almost identical in look and is just as reliable but half the price. I use both and haven't found any issues with either.

Best of luck, hopefully you buy a snake at the show!
