This is still exorbitantly expensive unless you only have a couple animals. I don't really get the hype. There are plenty of other choices that won't cost $100+/month.

I agree. I tried it and to be honest, I'm not that impressed. The stuff might absorb water great but with it being still relatively small pieces, it loses that water fairly quick too. I used it for my GTP and i have to mist the stuff at least twice a week and within a day it is dried out. With the ReptiChips being bigger chunk so coco, it holds much more water per piece so it means i need to mist a lot less. Like once a week to week and a half. Havent tried the Zoo Med cypress in the GTP cage but i will when i use up the rest of the Reptile Prime. I imagine it will hold water well as the stuff holds humidity like crazy in the AP cages.

And i imagine Brian offered free shipping now as he was losing business from all the other substrate companies offering either a flat shipping price or free shipping.

I dont get the hype either. I had to try it though to see for myself and maybe I'm in the minority but i dont see it. For large constrictors, i think the stuff would suck. Too light and fluffy and would easily get shoved into the corners and along the walls of the cage when a big snakes moves around. I can see it good for maybe a BP which is more or less a pet rock and stay fairly small though but still, the cypress works just as well. And it's actually cheaper. Sure it's not a renewable resource but no denying the stuff is awesome.

And finally, you all do know that it really isnt 'free' shipping. If you notice, the price of the stuff used to be $15.99 plus $5.00 shipping. On my old receipt for the stuff last month, it was a total of $20.99 for 1 bag shipped. Now you look at the price of it and it is $20.99 with free shipping.....not really free shipping lol.
