Can my snake get fleas?

I think my dog might have fleas... not sure. But now I’m concerned it’s gonna transfer to my snakes.

Fleas feed on warm blooded animals so no , however your snake can get snake mites which feed on cold blooded animals.

Yes im aware of snake mites but I don’t think I can get them from my dog

You could if you took your dog into a place with snake mites and your dog brought home a hitchhiker kind of like how it could happen to you also :D

Sadly mites / eggs can apparently be introduced into your house on clothes or bags of substrate etc - if you visit a pet store or Reptile store or another snake keepers house ...

I am very aware I can get mites, out of 4 years of owning snakes I’m lucky I haven’t got any yet.

Apologies .... There's no way of knowing how much you or anyone else knows about snake welfare ..

No I totally agree! I haven’t been keeping snakes as long as some people on here but I’ve had them for 4 years. I’m lucky I haven’t encountered mites yet.
