Natural stain consisting of vinegar and coffee?
So a friend of my mom's builds outdoor planters, and makes her own stain using vinegar and coffee. My mom was wondering if perhaps it woud be all right for my ball python's new enclosure, if of course we allowed it to air out.
Do you think it would be safe?
We are still building the enclosure. We have a stain for the inside, a natural perservative that is used for cutting boards, BUT it needs to be reapplied frequently.
Which would be best, assuming the other one is safe?

Sorry. I should have clarified: this is supposed to be inside the enclosure, not outside

Yes, that's what I thought you meant. You can use the stain but will need to use a sealant as well. A clear coat sealant so the stain will still be the color of the finished wood.
