    Morph question (???)
So my family is thinking about letting me get a snake, I mentioned it briefly, and they're starting to think it over. I will be the one to pay for the snake and all of its requirements, obviously as it will be mine, but the thing I'm contemplating is getting a different morph than the one I originally wanted because I think it would be cheaper. The morph I originally wanted was a Black Pastel Banana my question is do you think I should go for the morph I want or go for a cheaper one? (of course, this is only if my family allows me to get on I may be getting ahead of myself)

get the one you want, if your gonna spend that kind of money on an animal, get what you want, not whats cheap. you would be happier with the one your wanting and thats where the true fun in having these pets are, if you get one just cause its cheap and can get it sooner, are you really doing right by the python ? or even yourself ? You would be more likely to keep the snake if its the one you wanted.

Heres some advice for ya, never settle, never....until your married, then settle on arguments because sometimes its just not worth the fight lol.

a ball python is a 20 year commitment at minimum; if you're going to care for something that long, you should go with your first choice.

Definitely get the morph you mostly want as a pet. Breeding purposes are different but as you stated, snake is going to be your pet. If you go for cheap one, you will regret. I have been considering that too when I first got my bp, my budget was under 100 dollar for basic morph. However, I went into the shop, saw the banana, spent 250 dollars on him. I am so happy I did it. Remember you will be keeping snake for long long time.

Go with your gut! Sure it'll take a bit longer but you won't regret it! Besides that's a beautiful choice you got there, you've got good taste :P

Go with the one you want, but in addition to that, be picky about the particular animal and buy from a good breeder. There's a lot of variety in morphs and some will be better or worse examples. It's up to you to pick an individual animal that you like. Also, don't buy an animal from a breeder solely based on price. Sometimes people will price inferior animals very low but also people use this as a scamming technique, so be wary of anyone selling your chosen morph for way less than regular market value.

Also, check out the listings on morph market for the morph you are looking for. That will give you a good idea of average price. For checking out seller's reputations, you can search on the fauna classifieds board of inquiry. If anyone has had a bad transaction with them, usually it will get posted there. There is also an inquiries and feedback forum here that you can post on asking about sellers.

Everyone said it already. Get one that speaks to you and that you want. It shouldn’t be about $ cause then there won’t be a connection and only regret and the animal will suffer.

Also be ready for addiction. Cause once you get one. You will want more and more. ITS REAL
