    Weird thing with my Dumeril
I noticed he had messed in his cage thru the night so I went to lift off his hide to get him out and noticed that he was curled up inside his hide upsidedown (belly up) except his head was laying correct side up.

It scared me at first, but he seemed fine. Is this normal??

It’s not uncommon. I’ve caught my BP and Boas doing that. Not so sure about my Carpets.

They do it when they get too warm and want to cool down. Or they may just be in the mood to be derpy. I believe gravid females do this at some point in their cycle as well, but not sure when.
