AP T8/T10 LED Strip Placement
Getting ready to order my second enclosure from Animal Plastics.... a T8 or T10 (undecided as of now). In my current enclosure, the AP-installed LED strip is placed towards the back. While it generally looks nice, I feel the RHP blocks some of the light from reaching the front of the enclosure. I feel it looks too dark towards the front. I know the snakes don't need it either way. Plus, although for now I removed the shelf I had in there, with the shelf in place its too dark UNDER the shelf.
I know Animal Plastics is very accepting of customizations we might request. Anyone ever request AP to install the lights up front, instead of towards the back? And, do you foresee anything negative with such placement?
Or... how about two sets of LED's... one in the back, one in the front?
Ideas? Comments? All are greatly appreciated.

Yea, my current T8 has the shelf, but I removed it for now... and the next one will have it as well. I find the T8's size fine, though. I have no problem reaching in to clean. For the next one, I can either place a T10 in the same stack as the current T8, OR if I got another T8 I can actually place 2 more T8's in the stack. So, either a T8 and T10, or 3 T8's. Decisions, decisions.
Would love to get the T25, but there is nowhere for me to put a 6 ft. enclosure. (unless.... strap to the ceiling above the fish tank??? :confusd: ---ok, now we're just burbling nonsense).

I guess Reinz would know but id think the LED's upfront would have less to refect off of. When their in the back they reflect off of the back wall mostly and top/bottom/sides.. They would loose the back wall to Glass. Reinz do you have a enclosure to compare that too with LED's positioned in the back?

Our lights are up front. They’re all aquarium LED fixtures that have some rotational adjustments, so they’re not pointed straight down, but at roughly a 45 degree angle toward the back/bottom. With a strip you might want to go center top, so neither the front or back are too shadowed.

Sorry, all of mine are up front. The glass does a good job reflecting the light back into the cage.

Unfortunately the remotes are not “keyed alike”. So at times they interfere with coloring on other cages. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...792f4ac5ec.jpg
As you can the the top cage on the right and the one on left, they are duller than the others. This because when I turned on the bottom ones, the remote added green to the others. It is easy enough to remedy by playing musical remotes.
After activating the remote again. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4752dc1785.jpg

Never thought of that. But, at the same time, the black walls don't really seem to reflect all that much. Was even considering maybe getting WHITE for the next enclosure, for this very reason.

Don't think that's possible... the RHP is in the middle.
Anyone with WHITE AP cages that can show pics with your lights on (either back-mounted or front)?

Here you go. You can see a bit of one of the lights, too.
Also, it looks brighter/lighter in person, the camera trying to balance light/dark makes them hard to photograph.
