    heat emiter
I just got a 100w heat emiter for my 40 gallon tank. I would like to know how long should I leave it on and how long should i leave it off?

    Thanx

Most people will tell you that undertank heating is the best way to heat a Ball Python enclosure. A heat lamp will dry out the enclosure and lead to bad sheds and possibly other health problems. But if you plan to keep it, you should have it controlled by a thermostat and you want a hot spot of 88-93 and a cool side in the low 80s. I would definitely suggest getting a thermometer so you know the temperatures and dont overheat your snake.
